Welcome to the Lake Tahoe & Reno destination page at

Lake Tahoe is one of the most beautiful natural wonders in the world. It is a
freshwater lake 22 miles long and 12 miles wide. It is as deep as 1,645 feet. It
is the highest elevated lake in the United States at 6,229 feet. The lake has 72
miles of shoreline, two thirds of it on the California side.
Lake Tahoe is surrounded by majestic ski resorts and, on the Nevada side,
Gambling Resorts, most notably in Stateline, Nevada and in Reno, Nevada, some 57
miles to the north by car, 22 miles by air.
Reno, known as the "Biggest Little City in the World", sits on the banks of
the Truckee River. It has the look and feel of an old gold mining town on
steroids. Indeed, gold had been discovered in the vicinity of nearby Virginia
City in 1850. But with the discovery of silver at the Comstock Lode in 1859, the
boom and bust economy would ultimately give way to that rough and tumble, down
home quality that now attracts some 5 million visitors per year who enjoy the
friendly confines of the gambling halls on South Virginia
Street.
